Action Audio

AO Radio and Vision Australia have broadened match coverage so that patrons who are blind or have low vision can enjoy the tennis in real time. Patrons can enjoy a ball-by-ball commentary of the play, but must provide their own headphones.

Hearing loops

Rod Laver Arena, Margaret Court Arena and John Cain Arena each have a hearing augmentation system to provide hearing assistance for those who need it. Patrons can sign out a hearing assist receiver from the Information Points at each of the three arenas but must provide their own headphones. 

Services animals

Service animals are welcome in all areas of Melbourne Park, Birrarung Marr and in all public transport facilities. 

Sensory rooms

The AO can be action-packed with lots of crowds and noise. We are proud to offer a sensory room in the AO Ballpark and in John Cain Arena for patrons with sensory needs.

Sensory rooms are located in AO Ballpark presented by Emirates and John Cain Arena.

Inclusion team

The Customer Experience Inclusion team will be able to provide assistance and information to guests requiring accessibility assistance while at AO24. The team also works alongside Travellers Aid to help patrons with accessibility needs enter and exit AO24. 

All gendered bathrooms

In addition to male and female bathrooms, all gendered bathrooms are available for people of all gender identities. All gendered bathrooms are located in Margaret Court Arena, Rod Laver Arena, Grand Slam Oval and John Cain Arena.

Prayer rooms

Multifaith Prayer rooms are available for patrons who would like to pray during their time at AO24. Prayer rooms are located in Centrepiece and John Cain Arena.

Quiet room

If the energetic atmosphere and bustling activity of the AO becomes overwhelming, step into our quiet room where you can relax, regulate and recharge, so you can make the most of your time at the Happy Slam. 

Communication boards

Communication boards are available at all the information booths on site, featuring symbols and fonts to support communicating with our diverse guests in a clear and accessible way.  

Sunflower initiative

For support for your non-visible or hidden disability, look for the sunflower badges worn by our Customer Experience Team at AO24, who will be there to ensure a safe and inclusive experience for all.

BindiMaps

Navigate the AO independently with the free BindiMaps accessible navigation app. The BindiMaps app offers step-by-step directions via audio, text and map options, as well as wheelchair routes.
